Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

This policy explains what data IconForge (https://iconforge.work) collects and how it is used. The short version: your images are converted inside your own browser and are never uploaded; AI generation sends only the text prompt you write; account data is limited to your email and credit balance.

Images and files you convert

Image-to-icon conversion runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. The images you upload, the generated icons, and the ZIP file you download never leave your device. Generated icons are cached in your browser only — clearing your browser data permanently deletes them, so download your icons promptly.

AI icon generation

When you use AI generation, the tool sends the text prompt it builds from your description (including the style and color choices) to our server and onward to a third-party AI image model provider in order to generate the image. Prompts are used only to fulfill your request and for abuse prevention. We do not build advertising or marketing profiles from your prompts.

Image vectorization

The image-to-SVG vectorize tool sends your image to a self-hosted conversion service that we operate. The image is processed in memory to produce the SVG result and is not persistently stored after the response is returned.

Account data

If you create an account, we store your email address, an authentication credential (a hashed secret — we never see or store your password in plain text), an optional nickname, and your credit balance and transaction history. That is all. We do not ask for your name, address, or phone number.

Payments

Credit packs and subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe — IconForge never sees or stores them. We receive only your email address, the plan purchased, and Stripe's identifiers so we can credit your account.

Analytics and local storage

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (pages visited, approximate country, device type). We use browser local storage for session state, your saved icons, and free-tier usage counters. You can block analytics cookies with any browser-level blocker without losing access to the tools.

Data retention and your choices

Children

IconForge is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, announce them on the site.
